After another exciting episode last Sunday night, HBO has dropped the promo trailer for the upcoming third episode of House of the Dragon, titled “The Second of His Name”. Third episode of Game of Thrones the prequel premieres on September 4.
That House of the Dragon episode 3 promotes more conflict between Rhaenyra and King Viserys as her rightful claim to the throne continues to be challenged by the Hightowers’ careful planning. The video also gives us a closer look at Daemon and Corlys’ newest enemy, Prince-Admiral Craghas Drahar, aka Crab-Feeder.
Based on George RR Martin’s Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon tells the story of the rise and fall of the Targaryens, the only family of dragon lords to survive the fall of Valyria. It takes place 300 years before the events of the award-winning serial adaptation of Play off Throneswhich aired its last episode almost two years ago.
The 10-episode series is led by Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. It will also feature Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Milly Alcock, Emily Carey, Graham McTavish, Ryan Corr, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Matthew Needham, Bill Patterson, Gavin Spokes, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Savannah Steyn and Theo Nate.
House of the Dragon comes from George RR Martin, Ryan Condal and Game of Thrones director Miguel Sapochnik, with Condal and Sapochnik also attached to serve as showrunners. Executive producers are Martin, Sapochnik, Condal, Vince Gerardis and Sara Lee Hess.
