Neve Campbell has been tapped to star in ABC’s upcoming drama series Avalonaccording to a recent report from Deadline.
Campbell’s appearance on the series will mark her second collaboration with director David E. Kelley after appearing in the first season of Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer. Currently there is no other casting information for Avalon has been made known, although it will likely start to fill soon now that a lead has been found.
The series originates from a short story by author Michael Connelly and takes place in the town of Avalon on Catalina Island. The story is set to follow Detective Nicole “Nic” Searcy (Campbell) of the Sheriff’s Department in LA, operating from a small office in the city. The series will then follow Searcy as she is drawn into a mystery the island has never seen before and something that could make or break her career as a detective.
According to the report, Campbell’s character will be assigned to the substation on Catalina Island after her no-holds-barred approach gets her reprimanded. Despite not wanting to move, Campbell’s detective skills will be needed to help solve what will soon become a huge mystery in the small town of Avalon. Currently, no release date has been set for the series, although ABC ordered it straight to series earlier this year.
