“Thirteen-year-old Sam Cleary suspects that his mysterious and withdrawn neighbor, Mr. Smith, is actually a legend hiding in plain sight,” reads the film’s synopsis. “Twenty-five years ago, Granite City’s super-powered vigilante, Samaritan , reported dead after a heated warehouse battle with his rival, Nemesis. Most believe that he perished in the fire, but some, like Sam, have hope that he is still alive. With crime now on the rise, Sam makes it his mission to lure Samaritans out of hiding to save the town from ruin.”

Spencer Legacy: Will you, how has your experience in boxing prepared you for this more action-heavy role?

Javon “Wanna” Walton: I think what really helped me is that I also have a gymnastics background. I’ve done gymnastics and I still do boxing, but I also have a boxing background. So I’ve done both for a very long time. I don’t do gymnastics anymore, but I think they both really helped me overall just with the stunts I did on top of that. You see, on the roof, I boxed a little with Sly, and it was a lot of fun. I love it. And you’ll see some more crazy stunts for me, like climbing a building. I really think that my background, just in general, has really helped prepare me for that kind of thing.

Dascha, you said you did your own stunts. How was it?

Dasha Polanco: That was exciting! Explosions! Motivating, inspiring. It has definitely prepared me for more. I’m ready for more action movies and maybe, you know, another movie with Sylvester. Who knows?

Maybe the main role?

Dasha Polanco: Oh, I’m ready! I’m ready. You know it’s my time. Everyone has their time and my time will come, believe me. So I’m ready for it all. I’m ready for it all. Yes Mr.

Will you, you’ve been in a commercial with The Rock, you’ve been in the movie with Stallone. What other legends do you want to work with?

Javon “Wanna” Walton: I would say someone that I would like to work with… there are so many amazing actors out there. I would love to work with Robert de Niro. I want to learn from people who are just … I want to work with people who are great actors that I can just learn from in general. I love that I did it at Samaritan.

Dascha is phenomenal, Pilou is phenomenal. Sly is fantastic. He is phenomenal, everyone is phenomenal. I just loved working with them, but I would love to work with Leonardo DiCaprio or Robert de Niro. I love working with people who push themselves and strive towards the bigger goal, who always want to improve themselves and not just be okay with where they are, you know? They will find every way to level up.

Dascha, you’ve also recently done some voice work. Do you have a preference when it comes to what kind of role, whether voice or live action?

Javon “Wanna” Walton: Voices are fun!

Dasha Polanco: Look, I like flexibility. I like versatility. I’m obviously… I’m now a tenner, it’s a decade in this business and it shows that I can be a superhero too. I can also be a leading role. I can also do voiceovers. I was just saying Wanna, I’ve done a couple of films in the last few months and it shows me in a different light where I’m comical… it’s a comical film.

So even though voice acting, to me, you don’t have to deal with all the makeup. You go in there, you can go in your pajamas and you’re behind the microphone and you use your essence and your voice. It is fantastic. But I also like the camera in my face – that’s why I’m an actor, you know? I’m a performer, you must be.

Javon “Wanna” Walton: You can’t do anything without love for it.
