Animation studio MAPPA has released a visceral new trailer for their upcoming animated adaptation of Chainsaw man manga. The trailer ends with a release month for the highly anticipated anime series.
The intense new trailer gives viewers a closer look at protagonist Denji and his wild transformation into the titular Chainsaw Man. It also highlights the supporting cast, such as Power the Blood Devil, Aki the Devil Hunter, and the mysterious Makima.
The end of the trailer reveals that the series will debut this coming October, with Crunchyroll confirming that it will also begin streaming on the service that month.

“Denji is a teenage boy who lives with a chainsaw devil named Pochita,” reads the series’ synopsis. “Due to the debt left by his father, he has lived a bound life as he repays his debt by reaping evil with Pochita. One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and is resurrected as ‘chainsaw man’ – a man with a devil’s heart.”
Chainsaw man was created by Tatsuki Fujimoto and was originally serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump between 2018 and 2020. Part 2 of the series began last July and is published via Shueisha’s online Shonen Jump+ magazine.
