Sony’s Madame Web Adds Girls Alum Zosia Mamet

According to DeadlineZosia Mamet (Tara USA) has been tapped to join Dakota Johnson in Sony Pictures’ upcoming Marvel film Madame Web, which is now in production. It is currently scheduled to hit theaters on October 6, 2023.

Mamet is best known for her role as Shoshanna Shapiro in the HBO comedy-drama series Girls. She also currently stars alongside Kaley Cuoco in HBO Max’s dark comedy The flight attendant.

Sony’s Madame Web led by Dakota Johnson as titular Spider Man Grade. Joining Johnson is Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Celeste O’Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), Isabela Merced (Transformers: The Last Knight), and Emma Roberts (American Horror Story), along with Golden Globe nominee Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps (Upshaw’s), and Adam Scott (Resignation).

Created by writer Denny O’Neil and artist John Romita Jr. in 1980, Madame Web is a blind psychic who has become a major player in the world of Spider Man due to her ties to “The Great Web”, a multiversal construct that binds all “Spider” characters together across the multiverse.

Madame Web is directed by SJ Clarkson (Jessica Jones) from a manuscript written by Morbius scribes Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
