Sony pictures has released a trailer for Devotion, the upcoming Korean war drama film. The film stars Jonathan Majors and Glen Powell in a story based on true events. It will have its world premiere in September at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, followed by its theatrical release on November 23.
The video, which you can watch below, highlights the friendship and heroism between Navy aviators Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner, who made history in America’s forgotten war.
Described as an air war epic, Devotion is based on Adam Makos’ book of the same name. It features Jonathan Majors (Lovecraft Country) as Jesse Brown, Glen Powell (Hidden Figures) as Tom Hudner, Joe Jonas (Camp Rock) as Marty Goode, Christina Jackson as Daisy Brown and Thomas Sadoski (The newsroom) as Dick Cevoli.
“The film tells the chilling true story of two elite fighter pilots from the US Navy during the Korean War,” reads the synopsis. “Their heroic sacrifices would ultimately make them the Navy’s most celebrated wingmen.”
Devotion is directed by JD Dillard from a script written by Jake Crane and Jonathan AH Stewart. It is produced by Molly Smith, Rachel Smith, Thad Luckinbill and Trent Luckinbill, with Dillard and Powell serving as executive producers.
