Thai Cave Rescue Photos Set Release Date for Netflix Limited Series

Netflix has released the first look images for Thai Cave Rescue, the long-in-development limited drama centered around the untold stories surrounding the youth soccer team’s 2018 rescue mission in Thailand. The six-episode miniseries will be available to stream on September 22.

That Thai Cave Rescue photos, which you can see below along with the key art poster, provide our first look at the young cast who will portray the 12 boys trapped inside a heavily flooded cave. It also highlights the brave rescue team who risked their lives to save them.

Thai Cave Rescue is created by Michael Russell Gunn and Dana Ledoux Miller, who also serve as showrunners. The series is filmed exclusively in Thailand, with Crazy rich Asians director Jon M. Chu executive producer.

“The world came together in 2018 to watch with anxiety and ultimately relief as a dozen boys from the Wild Boars youth soccer team and their coach were rescued from a flooded cave in northern Thailand,” reads the synopsis. “The boys of the team’s myriad perspectives will take center stage in the new series, which follows their trip to the Tham Luang caves as it turns from a fun adventure into a massive and critical rescue.”

Set to portray the Boar team are young local actors including Pratya “Tiger” Patong, Songpol “Pangpon” Kantawong, Chakkapat “Junior” Sisat, Thanawut “Bank” Chetuku, Teeraphat “Gun” Somkaew, Thanaphong “Pluem” Kanthawong, Thanapat “Utha” Phungpumkaew, Apisit “Fluke” Yukam, Watcharaphol “Kim” Puangsawan, Thapanot “Nam-Ning” Huttapasu, Apisit “Chit” Saengchan and Rattaphoom “Fluke” Nakeesathid.

Additional cast members include Papangkorn “Beam” Lerkchaleampote as Coach Eak, Thaneth “Ek” Warakulnukroh as Chiang Rai Governor Narongsak Osottanakorn, Urassaya “Yaya” Sperbund as Kelly, and Manatsanun “Donut” Phanlerdwongsakul as Pim.

Thai Cave Rescue comes from an international group of filmmakers consisting of directors Nattawut “Baz” Poonpiriya and Kevin Tancharoen with John Penotti, John Logan Pierson, Lance Johnson and Tim Coddington.
