Gotham Knights lets 2 Nightwings prowle in Gaming’s biggest Gotham to date – ComingSoon.net

In a recent interview with Game Informer, Gotham Knights Executive Producer Fleur Marty and Game Director Geoff Ellenor chatted about how they bring a unique vision of Gotham to a post-Arkham landscape. Not only will this new game from WB Games Montreal focus on co-op action between a couple of Bruce Wayne’s departments, but it will also get them to explore the greatest representation of Gotham City in game history.

Like many open-world games before that, Gotham Knights bets heavily on the size of its playable environment. Robin, Nightwing and the rest will roam across the open city in custom Batcycles before going into battle. Marty said they focused on the “density and verticality” of the city and made sure the exploratory space has a lot of layers to uncover when players explore. WB showed off some of this world in its latest gameplay demo.

One surprise that some may not see coming is that a co-op session may involve multiples of the same Bat-Family hero. Ellenor confirmed that shifts during the co-op could get “as weird as you want” and let two of any character roam together to take on Gotham’s dingy lower abdomen. Marty also said that at least one point in the game responds to teams with multiples of the same character. It’s a comic book universe, so a pseudo-scientific explanation involving some kind of multiverse or crossover would be quite appropriate.
