I spent most of July outside celebrating birthdays and enjoying the summer. Taking care of our outdoor space was a big focus, along with looking after my skin and finding some downtime to read and enjoy a few really good shows.
While work also remains busy, I always try to remind myself that I can’t be firing on all cylinders all the time. The recs I share below helped me slow down a bit this month. I hope you enjoy browsing through these six things I loved in July.

Lessons in chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
This book is such a delight. I love the author’s fast, witty and twisted writing style. If you like Gilmore girls or The wonderful Mrs. Maisel, this book is for you. I swallowed it.
Doré La Crème
This is my favorite face cream I’ve tried all year. It has a really good consistency – it sinks right in and doesn’t make your face greasy at all. I think this cream could work well all year round, although in the dry winter months I would probably use it in the morning and use something a little heavier at night.
Resignation on Apple TV+
Included with an Apple TV+ subscription
This is the best show I’ve seen all year. It is beautiful and haunting. Adam Scott is amazing and Patricia Arquette is the creepiest person I’ve seen on TV in a long time. I want to watch it again because there are so many little things and symbolism I think I missed. This show alone is worth the Apple TV+ subscription in my opinion.
Sun Joe Electric high pressure cleaner
We live in a wooded area with tons of cobwebs and everything on our outdoor patios gets dirty. This pressure washer is a useful tool and it works so well. I wish I had gotten it sooner!
NassifMD Detox Pads
I learned about this type of product from @oliviasalmen on TikTok and decided to give it a try. These pillows are SO good. I was worried that they would be drying or irritating, especially after my experience with dermatitis, but they are not at all. I love using them to treat areas of rough texture, fine lines and hyperpigmentation. Even after the first week of use I could see a difference.
How to change your mind on Netflix

The show helps shed light on the long, cultural history of psychedelic use. There is so much out there that we tend to close our minds to because we have been told it is “bad” or “wrong”. This show is really well done and opened my mind to the power of psychedelics.
