Miranda Kerr is not a “morning person”, but here’s why she wakes up at 5 every day

Wake Up Call

How do you spend the first five minutes of your day? In our Wake Up Call series, we take a look into the morning routines of people we admire to inspire our own AM rituals and set our best foot. See everything

Next, model, mother, entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Bark OrganicsMiranda Kerr’s morning routine.

Okay, yes, one can not deny her natural beauty – she built a career on her appearance after all – but apart from the aesthetics, it’s actually Miranda Kerr’s lit inside glow that attracts people to her – including myself. From the few times I have been fortunate enough to interview Kerr throughout my media career, I can vouch for her magnetic energy. In fact, I am convinced that she exists at a higher vibration. People are drawn to her light, and she happily shares it with the world, and that’s how she came to create her own skincare line. KORA.

The Pure Crusader launched its brand back in 2009 (long before pure beauty was a buzzword at all) to raise awareness, educate and democratize certified organic skin care. But it’s not just about being clean and certified organic, it’s also about creating effective products that deliver results (and she has case studies and consumer reviews to prove it). It is safe to say that she did just that. Today, KORA is sold in 25 countries and available in Sephora stores across the country – but Kerr has just started.

So we had to know how the founder and CEO of a global beauty brand starts its day? Read on to learn about Miranda Kerr’s morning routine and why her wake-up call is at 5 every day.

On her wake-up call …

Between 5 and 5:30 on weekdays and 6 in the morning on weekends. I sleep on average about seven hours a night, even though I want eight hours.

On her morning routine …

The last few weeks I have changed my routine and now start my day with a Tracy Anderson workout six days a week. If I’m lucky, I’m going to take a shower and do my skincare routine in the morning (depending on when the kids wake up). I have found that this is a great way to start my day and get the endorphins flowing.

To be honest, I am not naturally a morning person, but I have had to learn to embrace it with three children.

When the kids usually wake up around 7am, I dress them up and we all eat breakfast together. Once the kids are in place, I start working for the day. I love working from home when I get to be around my kids, but I try to make sure I finish things off by 6 p.m.

The first thing she does when she wakes up …

The first thing I do when I wake up is kiss my husband.

On what she always has on her bedside table …

Water, Noni Glow Sleeping Maskand a rose quartz crystal.

What she eats for breakfast …

I love smoothies. Right now is my favorite Medical Medium Heavy Metal Detox smoothie and I add my Noni Glow Skinfood Supplement to it.

On her pre-work routine …

Right now, I love starting my day with the Tracy Anderson workout. When I’m done, if I have time, I brush and take a shower. Then I do my morning skincare routine. Then I drink my 32 ounces of celery juice. If I have time, I meditate before the kids wake up.

On her morning beauty routine from start to finish …

Right now, my morning routine is to use ours Milky Mushroom Gentle Cleansing Oilfollowed by Turmeric luminous and exfoliating 2-in-1 maskthen Noni Bright Vitamin C Serum which contains Kakadu Plum (the highest source of naturally occurring vitamin C) – this product has been a lifesaver to lighten my pigmentation! Then I use our new Turmeric Glow Moisturizer all over my face, neck and décolleté – it really keeps my skin glowing all day. I then apply Noni Radiant eye oil and Noni Glow Face Oil as needed for a small boost of nutrition – it is great for all skin types, especially sensitive skin and even oily skin. Sometimes when I feel a little swollen, I give myself a gua sha massage with mine Rose Quartz Heart Face Sculptor. It helps stimulate circulation, reduce swelling and naturally lift and shape my face. I also brush dry-body just before I take a shower.

About how her morning routine has changed during quarantine …

To be honest, it does not really have. Becoming a mother is what dramatically changed my morning routine as I had to learn to get things done while they slept.

On her morning media rituals …

Snapchat Discover Channel.

On her favorite books …

Medical Medium Cleanse to cure by Anthony William and Kraft vs Kraft by David R. Hawkins, MD Ph.D.

On her preparation soundtrack …

A collection that includes hip hop, country and a little pop.

At her favorite morning workout …

I’ve been making the Tracy Anderson method every morning for an hour six days a week in 90 degree temperature and high humidity so I have sweated it out and loved it.

On her daily uniform …

My daily uniform is currently jeans and a cute top! I don’t get dressed like that or walk in heels that much, but I still do sometimes.

About how she would spend an extra hour every morning …

Sleep!

On the two things she does every day to live a more present / attentive / joyful life …

TM Meditation and Wim Hof’s breathing techniques.

At the one moment that defined her success …

I will not say a moment, but a combination of moments: to shoot with Steven Meisel for Italian Voguealong with becoming a Victoria’s Secret Angel and my first Balenciaga show.
