It was rumored this month that 48-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio was potentially romancing 23-year-old model Victoria Lamas. Victoria is the daughter of actor Lorenzo Lamas, and he apparently confirmed their date night in some comments on New York Post on December 28.
“She’s very taken,” he said. “I told her to treat the relationship like a vacation — just enjoy it as much as possible while it lasts. And if it lasts more than a typical vacation, great. But if not, just watch your heart , you know? Because she’s very young.”
He backed off a bit and insisted that they are just friends.
“They’re friends, they’re not in a serious relationship,” he explained. “And I just want it to be clear … they’re not dating.”
He continued: “They’re just friends, but of course she’s smitten. And that was my cautionary tale to her: Just take one step at a time. But right now, they’re not an item. They’re not mutually exclusive.”
Mentioning the age difference between the two, Lorenzo said it doesn’t bother him, though he acknowledged Victoria’s youth.
“Age is not really a factor for me as much as respect, trust and communication,” he said. “That’s the key.”
The pair were spotted in Los Angeles together on December 20, leaving The Birds Street Club and getting into a car together. But a source E! News that they were with a group, not one-on-one.
“They sat (not next to each other) at a big group dinner,” the insider claimed. “They were joined by a number of other people in the car.”
Before Victoria came on the scene, DiCaprio had been spotted with 27-year-old model Gigi Hadid. It was also a relationship that was reportedly not very serious, and Hadid appears to have spent the holidays with family.
