V.Mora is hiring a fashion production intern in New York, NY

V. Mora hiring interns for their production team. You will work together with the production manager, who works with a number of different customers/collections from the design start and all the way through production! The position is located in the heart of New York at a beautiful 12,000 feet. study. You will be working closely with CEO Anna Livermore who not only started V.Mora in 2008 but recently opened a sister company photo studio called Swift Studios.

This (3 months + preferred) internship will guide you through the ins and outs of working in fashion production.

You will learn:
– The life cycle of fashion production from concept to online sales.
-How to create a fashion collection from scratch with low MOQs, this is invaluable if you aim to start your own line one day.
-How a small business is run, from understanding revenue, how consulting works and general day-to-day business operations

Daily tasks may include:

– Collection and delivery at manufacturers
– Planning customer meetings, booking models, etc.
– Parts list sheet
– Technical packages
– Ordering office supplies
-Shipping – inventory list of incoming and outgoing tracking numbers
-Assist Pattern Maker – give instructions on sample/pattern
– Entering consultation summaries
– Creation of specification sheets
-Fabric + trim sourcing and ordering (controlled by manager)
– Take appropriate notes
– Quotation of production, patterns and samples
-Assist in digitization for delivery/retrieval and direction
– Updating customer reports and helping manage customers
-Assists with all the above tasks, to do’s given by the manager

Preferred qualifications and skills:
– Entry level intern with a fashion and design background, or a passion for the industry
– Basic knowledge of product development and production
-Google Suite: Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive
-Strong communication skills
– Organized and punctual
-Adobe Suite
– Graphic design background

You will work in a friendly and cool environment. We are looking for candidates with excellent communication skills, problem solvers and multi-taskers, with the ability to manage competing priorities. Being highly adaptable is a must as the fast fashion industry is constantly evolving. You will also have administrative responsibilities such as data entry, order processing, invoicing, shipping and receiving.

This internship is unpaid, but we offer an unlimited MTA Subway pass during your internship, if you attend college or university, we can help transfer school credit. If you have graduated, this internship has the possibility of full-time employment after review.

This job is an office job in Manhattan. This is not a remote job.
