Taylor Swift shared her thoughts on Selena Gomez’s ‘My Mind and Me’ doc in a moving way

Selena Gomez’s longtime close friend Taylor Swift didn’t wait long to give her opinion on Gomez’s intimate documentary, My mind and me, known. Hours after the film, which explores Gomez’s mental health journey over the past six years and life’s adjustment to her diagnosis of bipolar disorder, was released on Apple TV+, Swift wrote about the project on her Instagram story. Sharing footage from a teaser, Swift wrote: “So proud of you @selenagomez. Love you forever. 🥹”

Gomez talked about Swift be her only industry friend in her cover story with Rolling stones released this week. “I never fit in with a cool group of girls who were celebrities,” she said. “My only friend in the industry is really Taylor [Swift], so I remember feeling like I didn’t belong. I felt the presence of everyone around me who lived a full life. I had this position and I was really happy, but … was I? Do these materialistic things make me happy? [I realized] I just didn’t like who I was because I didn’t know who I was.”

She also spoke to SiriusXM about how she sees Swift as an inspiration musically as well. “The most influential artist, for me, is kind of Taylor [Swift], not because she’s my friend, but she’s been an artist that can cross over into so many different genres and she’s able to do it seamlessly,” Gomez said. “And I admire that so much, and that is so rare. I love her process and I just admire all the work she has done. She has definitely inspired me.”
