All eyes were on selena gomez at the “My Mind & Me” premiere in Hollywood. The Nov. 2, the “Lose You to Love Me” singer who recently recovered from COVID-19strutted down the red carpet in a purple silk Rodarte gown to celebrate the release of her new feature film.
Over Gomez’s right shoulder, the asymmetrical dress was draped with a long bow design that swept across the diagonal neckline – revealing her massive neck tattoo — and hung down past the fall. The silk fabric hugged the waist and rested in a gentle flare just above her ankles. She paired the look with a crystal-embellished rectangular clutch, embellished PVC Mules from Paris Texas and colorful David Webb streamer earrings. Like the infamous “dress” meme that went viral in 2015, Gomez’s outfit appeared to change color under the stage lights during an interview about her new film, tricking the eye into seeing shades of pink instead of purple.
The majority of movie premiere attendees kept their color palettes neutral, sticking to warm shades of beige, tan and black. In contrast, Gomez’s sparkling violet ensemble was an exquisite choice for the guest of honor. The star even sported an orange manicure as an added pop of color that beautifully complemented the gems dangling from her ears.
Gomez was styled off Kate Youngthe stylist responsible for unforgettable red carpet moments like Sophie Turner‘s Louis Vuitton outfit at the Academy Museum Gala, Margot Robbie‘s cut-out sheath dress at the “Amsterdam” premiere and Gomez’s sparkling wedding dress at the Emmys.
Before the premiere, the singer released her emotional new single, “My Mind & Me,” inspired by her mental health journey. “My mind and me, we don’t get along sometimes / And it gets hard to breathe,” she sings on the track. While Gomez previously admitted that she was “kind of scared“About to share her very personal mental health documentary with the world, she was the picture of confidence and style on Wednesday’s red carpet.
