The four-time Grand Slam champion announced on Twitter today that she is expecting her first child. She shared a photo of an ultrasound of her baby and included a touching note about the happy news. “Can’t wait to get back on the court, but here’s a little life update for 2023,” she captioned the tweet.

In a screenshot of her Notes app, Osaka shared, “The last few years have been interesting to say the least, but I think it’s the most challenging times in life that are perhaps the most fun. These few months away from the sport have really given me a new love and appreciation for the game I have dedicated my life to. I realize life is so short and I take no moment for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure. I know I have so much to look forward to in the future one thing i’m looking forward to is my kid watching one of my matches and saying to someone ‘that’s my mom’ haha 2023 will be a year that will be full of lessons for me and I hope to see you at the start of the next one as I will be at Aus 2024. Love you all endlessly.”

She ended her announcement with a message of positivity, writing: “Side note: I don’t think there is a right way to go in life, but I’ve always felt that if you move forward with good intentions, you will find your way finally.”
