Marni took New York by Storm with James Harden, Kyle Kuzma and Madonna

Even though Francesco Risso’s crazy creations at Marnie can feel otherworldly, like sartorial dispatches from a Dr. Seussian planet far away, his clothes have found a home in NYC. New Yorkers like clothes with big personalities to match their own: a huge candy-striped mohair sweater tied around the shoulder, or a stunning cut pinstripe suit with swapped panels paired with teeny-small shorts. A smart one Uniqlo x Marni line earlier this year introduced a whole new audience to Risso’s cult favorite clothing. So it was only natural that Risso would land in New York – Brooklyn, to be exact – to present one of his most out-there collections to date, a whirlwind of acid-dosed cowboy-cut jeans, cropped, abstract knit tops and a few wickedly shiny panné velvet suits (including one worn by artist and Marni head Tyler Mitchell).

Equally exciting was what the New York branch of the Marni fan club wore to the show, held on the cobbled streets of Dumbo and set to a live orchestral accompaniment composed by Dev Hynes. See who showed up and how they got down to the wildest fashion show of the season so far.
