Madonna and Lourdes Leon turned New York Fashion Week into a family relationship. The mother-daughter duo sat in the front row at Tom Ford spring 2023 runway show on Sept. 14 and wore coordinating outfits. Madonna styled a silky black two-piece with fingerless leather gloves and a lace lingerie-style bodysuit, while Leon wore a shimmery ankle-length tank dress, a cross pendant necklace and strappy sandals. They were joined by Madonna’s 22-year-old son, Rocco Ritchie, who was dressed in a purple velvet suit, silk button-down and sunglasses to match his mother’s.
Madonna sat among the oldest of her six children at Skylight on Vesey as the Hadid sisters and several models presented a collection dripping with sequins filled with cut-out dresses, tiny bralette tops and oversized jackets. Other stars in attendance included Lori Harvey who left shirt less in an olive green suede blazer; Ciara, who commanded attention in an all-red ensemble; and Conan Gray, who wore a deep gold top and cheetah print pants.
Leon is no stranger to Fashion Week, having made her catwalk debut at the Gypsy Sports NYFW show in 2018 when she was 21 years old. Since then she has walked the runway for Versace, Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty brandand Marine Serre and sat in the front row at countless other presentations.
While discussing her modeling career with Interview magazine last year, Leon said: “I want to create a world where models have more agency in what they do, and they’re not just silent clothes racks. This is the age we’re entering in the fashion world: models as personalities and artists. “
