There was a time when it felt like all jeans had stretch in them, but as the vintage-inspired, stiff denim became more popular, it’s become harder and harder to find nice jeans with some give. This is a personal mission for me; I have never been able to do that comfortably wear a pair of jeans without stretching. The only way to get them is to go up two sizes to my hips and then they are way too big on my waist. I’m not in the market for a pair of jeggings, just a cool pair of jeans I can actually wear comfortably. If you’re like me and need a little stretch in your denim, keep reading to shop my picks.
I’ve done the hard work for you here, but if you’re curious, it’s important to check the fabric or construction of every pair of jeans you look at. There must be at least one percent elastane, polyurethane or spandex; the more, the more stretchable. I like to aim for two percent if I can get it. If you’re ever worried about your jeans stretching out too much, throw them in the dryer. They will shrink back in no time. Happy shopping!
