One of my favorite things to do is travel as a family. We travel a lot for work, and fun, we have tried so many different gadgets that I would put together a list of my tried and true favorites. There have been so many amazing travel accessories for kids over the years that make it so much easier to travel.
That Doona pram (stroller / car seat combo) is one of the ultimate baby purchases we used every single day when we first had Ollie, and Donna Trike is equivalent to toddlers. After Ollie grew out of the car seat, we graduated to Doona Trike and we use it all. that. time. It is a mix between a trike and a stroller and perfect for toddlers, both when traveling or at home, when doing errands, going for walks, etc. It folds down to fit in the backpack it comes with, so you can easily pack it up and throw it over your shoulder when it is not being used. It is super light and a large carry-on size, so it is perfect for flights, road trips or just everyday use. People always stop and ask us about it. Definitely an accessory for toddlers that will change the way you travel.
This phone holder has been great for us to hold up our phone so our kids can watch a show at the airport or to turn on Ollie’s shows on the plane. It clips to the tray table so Ollie does not always touch it and change it. It’s under $ 25 and we even use it for when we’re not traveling, it’s great for Ollie too when we were out running errands! The older kids love it too.
These scooter suitcases are brilliant! They are carried the size of all children and can be attached and taken off the scooter’s wheelbase and can even be folded down into regular wheeled suitcases. It keeps the kids entertained at the airport if we have a long stay and I love that they have a scooter to cruise around on when we are exploring on vacation. It’s definitely more of a splurge, but SO worth it in my opinion. I also love how the kids can use the scooter part alone, so it’s super versatile!
I love Ollie’s wireless headphones because he usually gets annoyed that the wires get tangled up and it gets awkward to take them off and on. This child size couple is under $ 30 and I love how these are made for kids and have built-in hearing protection so the volume can not get too high.
- When Ollie grew up Doona pram, I missed having such an easy way to travel with a car seat, so I was very excited when I found this travel car seat. We usually rent a car when we travel and are out driving around and exploring a lot, so it is a must to have a car seat with us, but lugging around a large, heavy car seat was a pain. This travel car seat has been a complete game changer! It is super light and can be folded up in the included bag. For perspective, the car seat weighs 8 lbs and ordinary car seats average 15-30 lbs. (You can also buy it without a carrying case here – comes in several colors.)
Tell me if you love any of these travel accessories that you are excited to try!
