2022 Remake Fashion Accountability Report
Re-recordinga global organization that advocates fair salary and climate justice within the clothing industry, has released its 2022 Remake Fashion Accountability Report. It reviews the social and environmental sustainability progress of 58 large companies, including Chanel and J.Crew and 15 new small sustainable brands. The report says, “only three companies (Burberry, Everlane and H&M Group) met all four of Remake’s climate criteria: Disclosure of full emissions; short-term 1.5℃ path-aligned science-based targets; ambitious long-term net-zero targets; and a reduction in their overall greenhouse gas emissions.” Other data shows that 7% of companies, including Reformation and Ralph Lauren, have announced some progress towards delivering a living wage across their supply chains, and a lot of movement was made of fast-fashion brands (i.e Shein and Boohoo) that greenwash.
